BIOGRAPHY
Early 2001 the history of Elders of Despair begins in the town of Hilleroed Denmark.
The two founding members (Michael Buch Christensen & Christian Engelbrekt Pedersen)
were attending the same school. Their fellowship started in 1990, but it was not
untill 2001 that they were brought together by a common taste in music
and an eager to write and play METAL.
Originally the band was called God Lived, but after some time and after a certain
development the music and the band within, they decided to change their name to
Elders of Despair. They have been writing material ever since.
While they were known as God Lived two members were in the line-up
during a short period of time. This line-up recorded their first demo,
a one track single, with the help of Tyr of Illnath. This song was called "Vicious Darkness".
But due to different musical paths the band was now down to two again.
Elders of Despair have been promoting their music through different online communities
such as download.com (feb. 13th they reached 30.000 downloads after just 6 months),
mymusic.dk and soundvenue.dk and many have been supportive of the band so far.
Already the knowledge of Elders of Despair has spread to many parts of the planet.
But now (Feb. 2005) they are finally able to launch their own music on their own official website.
Elders of Despair plays melodic metal inspired by numerous nordic metal artists
and genres as black, melodic/symphonic black, speed, death, melodic death, folk, black folk and heavy...
It is hard to define Elders of Despair with the label of a certain genre.
